saw it on a vintage wristwatch shop and i just fell in love.

ive always wanted to get a cartier santos 300

 

but i dont know. i like them both.

there is something about the seamaster's non-color and timeless appeal that just gets me. the santos' lines are so clean and that's what i like. but the seamaster would go with everything. wait, the santos too. gaa, i don't know.

 anyway, i'll trust my feelings when i get to hold it one of these days.

job fair

so im in sm megamall at 5AM for a job fair at the megatrade hall. why 5am? beats me.

i was told that there would be media coverage in the morning so i should be there, in case there's a chance for an interview. extra mileage for the company, i guess. more bang for the buck, since we paid for this anyhow. i just went, even if i thought none of the applicants would be there. it's frikin FIVE IN THE MORNING!

but this greeted me at 5am:

amazingly, there was a line to get in. yes, AT FIVE A.M.

i guess there are a lot of people who really need jobs. and who need them badly enough that they had to be there that early. made me realize how lucky i still am despite all the difficulties at work. i guess this was God shoving up to my face the fact that i still am blessed.

wala lang.

exercise

i cannot wait to actually start 

working out/running/boxing/dancing like a maniac/(insert any sweat-inducing activity here)

with the millions of crap that i have to get done, i have to HAVE TO incorporate exercise into my week.

and getting my new rubber shoes was a start. i just really have to move my butt.

on our way to the MUJI opening, we saw the fluffiest dog you'll ever see.

all white interiors, muted colors, purple light and japanese boom-boom music. perfect.

went with ms.mags and joal

the peninsula manila catered. goodies and drinks being passed around was great. this one on the left was especially interesting.

some pandan jello that had a dallop of cream and chocolate-covered FIZZWIZZ! it might sound gross, but really, it's yummy:) my mouth kept popping while i gulped down the white wine.

saw this nice pull-in table that i've always wanted.

you could actually get something like this shelf in SM, but i don't know. the styling makes it look so much more expensive. i just noticed that white laptop stand. nice. 

these were the softest pillows in the house. luscious-soft.

saw sensible shoeboxes, closest to what i imagined the perfect shoebox to be. stackable, but no need to take out of the stack to get your shoes. and that it's translucent is perfect because you could see which pair is inside, but you dont see the whole shoe, so it still looks neat.

anyway, bought 6 of these.

went back exactly a week after and they're GONE. huhu.

on my way to the counter, i saw this lovely couple, who were surprised that i remember meeting them in washington dc back in 2004 (that's me-- i just remember things). johann espiritu and wife marga were invited to a dinner for the ateneo glee club hosted by the philippine consulate when we were there. he was still studying at georgetown then, i think. now i see his works in exhibits and blogs-- he's a lawyer AND a professional photographer too! 

i liked the barong he was wearing, so i asked him where he got it.

'uhm.. rajo made it for me', he said, smiling shyly.

oh, gel! gel was the one who invited me to the opening. here he is with markki, clod, ms.mags and gen.

 we snuck out for dinner because hors d'oeuvres won't do. hehe.

we crossed the street to serendra and ate at murray & d'vine, where the hamburgers have been raved about

 saw the smallest heinz bottle ever. (my potato wedges fit in it exactly)

 and had the yummiest stack of ribs.

went back to muji for the pens, when i saw this commotion by the escalator.

it was cecile/cvs/chuvaness! didn't have the balls to ask for a photo so i paparazzi-ed a shot.

i'd recognize those sneakers anywhere.

anyway, I NEED THESE IN MY LIFE. 

and i found the thinnest pen points i've ever seen. of course i got some. 

pens, pens, pens. organized by color. took a photo to have a friend salivate. lol!

okay, so i closed muji. i was so focused on the details, i didn't realize i was the only one left.

didn't notice this the last few times i ran in and out of the store.

one year

drove to bulacan last week to celebrate the 1st anniversary of a friend's passing. by golly, how time flies.

there were a lot of people present, i saw myself seeing old friends and making new ones. at some point, i caught myself talking to her picture. i still feel she hasn't left, especially with people laughing and sharing stories about her over liquor and cigarettes.

i guess she really LIVED, ya? makes me wonder sometimes what effect i have on people, and how i will be celebrated once i myself have passed on. or will i be celebrated? i wonder what stories about me would be told over and over again.

yiish! suddenly life seems like one major performance. you're only as good as your last show. looking back, i don't believe i've been really really mean to anyone (unless necessary, of course) so i guess it's all good.

had a street party at the office last night. the euroclubcar philippines brought in their babies to show-off to the world

was so busy, this was the only food i got a photo of. and i had to stop the roaming waiter to get this shot

 

lovely spicy mushrooms. i'm just glad gout is not an issue with me cos i picked like four pops in one each time i passed it!

didn't get to take a lot of photos anymore, i started popping in the shots. 

most of the photos, i used my lights tipper with. VERY happy, to say the least:)

i first learned about this add-on from legally_bald, one of the friends of chuvaness. wow, about a couple of months ago.

one day all of a sudden, i find myself in a camera store and inquiring about it. i first bought flash diffusers, not knowing the difference. the oc in me would not keep still and i just went around the store to browse through their other offerings while my purchase was being packed and prepared. i chanced upon the lights tipper. i could swear there was some version of 'hallelujah chorus' in my head when i saw this. i changed my purchase and got this instead.

 

no wonder i didn't find it. i know it's a light scoop. this one was named lights tipper.

it may be just plastic, but it sure does give a great effect to the photos.

it bounces off the flash with this mirrored side!

but of course it didn't end there.

i went back to the store a few hours after to go back for the flash diffusers. i just imagined the endless possibilities of having different peripherals for my camera for endless effect possibilities.

but no, the shop was closed already. argh!

true to form, i went back the next day and got them. i finally felt content. for now at least:)

this came with three different-colored diffusers, for different effects. i haven't played with them yet, but i have an event coming up, so i'll experiment there.

hello..

after 3 long years, i finally decided to move here from my old home.

 i tried to figure out why i didn't blog a lot. i realized that i like posting photos, and blogging on my old site with photos was such a chore. i had to upload all my photos on flickr first before i could attach it to my entries. i would upload it, and open the site where the .jpg address would be located. but i had to make sure it was the size that i wanted because i like high res photos. then i'd paste it onto my attachment before...

in other words, it was a major (major) production.

so here's to better, faster posting on blogspot. i'm quite excited, actually. i think i'll enjoy it here:)

*anyone out there know how i could import all my old posts from LJ to here? livejournal2blogget doesnt seem to be working, drats! >.<

jogging shoes

bought new rubber shoes tonight.

it was a really random purchase. i've been looking for new rubber shoes, but i couldn't find a pair i liked. took mum and dad out to dinner when i saw the adidas outlet, then bam! i didn't even eat anymore, i just left them. i don't think i ever owned a pair of running shoes, so it's kinda great that i got these. and they're funky too!

if only new shoes equated to new-great-sexy-zeropercentbodyfat-tonedmuscled-body, then i'd be happy.

so excited to start working out / jogging again!
